Medwish Brigade | Nicaragua
Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:47PM We are wrapping up a week long visit to Nicaragua. There are many stories to tell and and images to convey. Our whole team, Christian, Brian and Mark captured the joy and smiles of Nicaragua's future and themselves were enriched by the experience. Unlike so many previous depictions of aid to those in need, we chose to tell their story through their eyes. MedWish is about people. People who donate their time and care to the recipients of the repurposed medical supplies. People who receive the supplies and are able to make their life a bit easier. The first day in Granada, Nicaragua we were able to come along on the delivery or a repurposed wheelchair. Maria Jose has not been able to walk since birth and was being transported in a baby stroller which she had outgrown. The wheelchair had been destined to be placed in a landfill or unused in a hospital closet.
