Since last August, we have had the honor of working with Medwish International on several projects, and on Saturday we premiered “The Story of Medwish: Chapter One” at the annual Band Aid Bash fundraiser.

We want to thank Medwish for believing in us. The collaboration has been an enjoyable process for all. It was our first project where the music was completely scored. Matthew James Murphy and Joe Parker of Churchill Score and Sound put together a very compelling soundtrack that was necessary to bring this film to life. We would also like to thank Aaron Kaufman of Cinnamon for his outstanding graphic work.

MedWish Project | The Workers

As many of you know, we have been involved with MedWish. Here is an update from our trip to Nicaragua last year.

The Band Aid Bash, Medwish's main event will be held on April 28, 2012 and we wanted to highlight some of the volunteers who make up the organization. It also sets the stage for a big surprise we have planned for that evening. Please support this great organization.

Drive to Create | Delivering Creativity to those in Need

We just want to take a minute to fill everybody in on a great cause that was just launched. Our friend Aaron Kaufman (Freelance graphic designer and part of the Creative firm Cinnamon), recently started a great non-profit organization devoted to delivering creative services to other non-profits and organizations having a difficult time with marketing. We think it is an excellent idea, especially in a time when marketing and branding is so critical.
One of the most challenging components of putting together a Same Day Edit is choosing from the hundreds of clips to best tell the story of that day, and in in this case a multi-day event. We actually had several story lines to use, but felt this film best represented Aanchal and Sumit. Filmed over 3 days, along with an engagement shoot (almost one year ago), there were plenty of choices from all of the footage.

Because of the many activities it is critical to have a detailed timeline. The couple's heroic wedding planner, Kathy Piech-Lukas of Your Dream Day, kept us all up to date. We also enjoyed working with the very talented photographer Jessica Strickland and her assistant Erica. It is always great to have cooperation between creative professionals. Even Susie (below), with the help of Mary and Lisa, allowed us to mount a camera on her saddle during the Baraat.

This past weekend was weird. It was a completely different experience. When I attend a wedding, I am almost always part of the film team covering the event (sometimes a guest). But on Friday and Saturday, I was asked to be the best man for my brother Jonathan’s wedding to his new wife Emily.

It was a unique situation. James and Christian covered the celebration for us, and showed this incredible same day edit at the reception! But I’m sure they would tell you that, at least at first, it was a different feeling for all of us. I found myself having to resist the urge to use the perfect natural light inside of the mansion to get a shot of the bridesmaids or groomsmen, and even holding back from getting in position to capture a key moment during the ceremony. These are natural instincts that I was forced to forget for a couple of days. After realizing that my duties had changed, it became much easier. And having some of my best friends covering Jonathan’s most important day was a big relief.

Emily and Jon picked the beautiful Bourne Mansion in Oakdale, NY as the site of the ceremony and reception. It was a great day and weekend for everybody involved.

Congratulations to Emily and Jonathan!

Despite the freezing temperatures, we were able to wrap up our final day of shooting with Joe and Matt on an upcoming piece for Medwish. They are scoring a short film to premiere on April 28 at the Medwish fundraising gala. We look forward to seeing you there to support this great foundation.
